Registration Closes on 10/13 at Midnight!

Today is the last day to register for the Harlan Fiske Stone Moot Court Competition. We are very excited about this year's problem which touches on criminal law, constitutional law, statutory interpretation, civil rights, and a host of other legal issues through a timely and unique fact pattern. The program is a great chance to further develop your legal writing skills and improve your public speaking. You also may win the chance to argue before a panel of Federal Courts of Appeals judges in the final round. If you wish to participate, you must register by 11:59 pm on 10/13. You can sign up using this Google form.
 

If you choose to participate in the competition, your participation will be noted on your transcript. However, if you withdraw from the competition after Saturday October 14th, your withdrawal will be reflected on your transcript.

Stone Moot Court Info Session

The information session for this year's Harlan Fiske Stone Competition will be held in JG 102A on Monday, October 9, 2017. Since 1925, the Stone Moot Court Competition has been Columbia Law’s highest test of appellate advocacy and attracts the School’s most talented budding advocates. Congratulations to our Four Finalists!!!!!

The Moot Court Executive Board gives a hearty congratulations to the four competitors who have advanced out of the semifinal round into the final round. The competition was very fierce but each of these competitors demonstrated substantial written and oral advocacy skills to earn their place in the final round.

Nico and Nicole will serve as counsel for the Plaintiffs-Appellants/Cross-Appellees while James and Jeremy will represent the Defendant-Appellee/Cross-Appellant during the upcoming final rounds at 4:15pm on Tuesday, April 4, 2017.

Congratulations to the Competitors Advancing to the Semifinal Round!

The Stone Moot Court Executive Board wants to give a hearty congratulations to the 20 competitors who have advanced out of the qualifying round into the elimination round. The competition was very fierce but each of these competitors demonstrated substantial written and oral advocacy skills to earn their place in the elimination round. They will be competing in two more rounds on February 21 and 23 to try to earn a spot in the Harlan Fiske Stone Moot Court Final Round.
